10 Celebs Who Could Play The Star Role In Angela Bassett Biopic
Angela Bassett opened up about who she would love to play her in an Angela Bassett biopic. In an interview with ABC radio she said, “I don’t know there are so many phenomenal young actresses out here today. There’s you know the incredible Anika Noni Rose and Naturi Naughton and on and on and on. Just beautiful, and that’s just two of a list of many, just beautiful sisters.”
On Dish Nation Porsha Williams nominated herself for the role saying, “I would live to play Angela Bassett. I have studied her career, I have watched every single movie she has ever been in and every civil rights activist wife she has played. When she played Tina Turner, I would live for that. I would just be honored.”
Now Angela Bassett is not retiring soon, but her journey through stardom would make a good pic. So we decided to gather up a few more actresses that could play Bassett on the big screen.
Our top pick is Keke Palmer. Not only does she favor Angela Bassett, the two have a dymanic chemistry that can be seen on some of their photos together. Not to mention, KeKe Palmer’s sassy personality would embody the natural sas that Bassett appeals to her audience without saying a word.
Lynn Whitfield could be a part of the Angela Bassett biopic, playing her as her current years in life. The two have been referenced as twins by so many already. Not to mention, Whitfield has had major roles already, and is capable of bringing the biopic to life just as she did with “The Josephine Baker Story”.
Nia Long has a pretty great comedy and adventure career when it comes to movies, playing in “Big Momma’s House 2”, and “Are we Done Yet” and more. We would love to see Nia Long do a biopic. This side by side photo also shows how much Nia Long favor Bassett.
Zoe Saldana has embodied the action film Industry playing roles in “Avatar”, “Avengers”, and “Star Trek Beyond” she has showed her diverse ability to switch it up when she portrayed Nina Simone in 2016. Zoe has similar cheek bone characteristics and complexion as Bassett and would be a good option.
Letoya Luckett is also an option. She has played in serious roles like “Unsolved” acting as Sharitha Golden in 2018. The film portrays the details of two detectives investigating both Biggie Smalls and Tupac’s murder.
YaYa Dacosta, even though she has played Whitney Houston already she could still pull off and Anegla Bassett biopic. Dacosta’s already high cheek bones and cat eyes would fit well with portraying Bassett. Not to mention, she has proven her ability to become a depiction of someone’s life in a film.
Finally, Meagan Good. Although, Bassett and Meagan Good do not look exactly alike they both have a few similarities that could pull it off on the big screen. Meagan as played in many comedy, adventure, and action movies. We would love to see her embody a biopic. Her last film was a thrill in 2019, placing her in a fourth category of film. Since she has proven her diverse abilities we think she would be a good option as well.
