A fight between rival gangs in an Ecuadorean prison has reportedly left 116 persons dead.
The fight on Tuesday, left five inmates decapitated. Others were shot dead.
Over 80 prisoners were reportedly injured during the clashes.
The clashes are considered the worst prison violence in Ecuador’s history.
The clashes occurred at the Litoral Penitentiary prison, considered one of the dangerous prisons in Ecuador.
The prison houses inmates from Ecuadorean gangs. The gangs are believed to have links Mexican drugs cartels.
