An estimated 150 persons in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region have reportedly died from starvation.
Ethiopia’s rebel group, TPLF’s agriculture chief Atinkut Mezgebo, made this known.
UN had previously accused the Ethiopian government of blocking aid to the Tigray region.
Mezgebo reportedly bemoaned that people and livestock were dying from lack of food and medicines “and the crisis might be bigger than what we know”.
In an interview with the BBC monitored by African Entertainment, he indicated that people were dying ‘’in front of our eyes because of starvation’’ and that women and children were most affected by the food shortage.
