Second March On Washington All The Details and Flashback

A second march on Washington is planned to take place this year in August. Fifty Seven years ago, Martin Luther King jr. led the movement to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans. Standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial this is where Dr. King delivered his speech  “I have A Dream” that would mark the future of what the African American life should look like. However, as of 2020 the full accomplishments of Dr. Kings dream are still yet to be completed.

As Dr. King stated in his speech, ” The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright days of justice emerge.” Due to the injustice that African Americans still deal with today, the repetition of this March is needed in order to remind and continue the revolt of pure equality.

The march has been announced on Instagram through @Marchonwash2 advocated by the House of Justice and the National Action Network. The company is an independent organization in no relation to Al Sharpton, or MLK III. “we have been trying to collaborate with other groups and personalities such BLM chapters from all over the country, Rev. Al Sharpton, MLK III, Color of Change, and many others so we can combine our efforts. We will also be adding more information about the organizing team. In the mean time, we would like to ask all our supporters to reach out to the aforementioned groups on our behalf on Twitter, Instagram, and by email. Please let them know of our page and movement and that we would love to work with them in any capacity. Thank you all for your support. #MoW2020.”

Both organized March on Washington events are walking for the same cause and will be held on August 28th, 2020.
