Beyoncé did her thing on stage, seemed very New Orleans style. She entered the stage with the band playing a dope cat walk, and her dancers were on point. First song performed was her duo with Jay Z, Crazy In Love. Crazy In Love, interluded into “Freedom”. At some point the band slowed down and Bey sang a rendition of “Lift Every Voice” aka the national anthem of the culture. If you went to a predominantly black school this was what was sang every morning when the bell rang.
Being the first black women to perform on stage, singing ” Lift Every Voice” was monumental to melanin magic. Bey kept the flow with “Formation”, the song that caused controversy at the Super Bowl, that had people wondering if she was implementing black panther behavior. Beyoncé’s song choice was a choice of empowerment women movements, and standing for black culture. Words like “I just might be a black Bill Gates in the making” or the first black woman to perform at Coachella.

Beyoncé did a sorority tribute to “sorry”, interluding into “I aint Sorry”, to ” Me, Myself, and I”. By the time she was thanking Coachella she was performing “Bow Down”. Beyoncé performed “Drunk In Love” that mixed in Soulja Boy “Superman”, and blended into “Diva” that incorporated some southern swag from Yogoti “Errrbody”. The Bourgeois twins were right there on stage with her, which was even more entertaining. The lights cut,as Beyoncé disappeared the band jammed to “We like To Party”. As Beyoncé entered the stage again dressed in black, she broke down singing “I Care”. At this point you could feel her pain of the struggles of the black woman, and relationship pains. Some how she went from pain to sexy with “partition” and it blended so perfectly like make up sex after a bad argument with spouse. Beyoncé included her songs inspired by other cultures like “Mi Gente” a song dedicated to Puerto Rico and “Baby Boy” with Caribbean vibes. And finaly the surprise that everyone was waiting for was her hubby Jay Z, performing “Deja Vu”. Ending her performance Beyoncé was thankful fro being the first black female to headline Coachella, in tribute she performed “Run The World, Girls”. For the rumored Destiny’s Child Rumor, it so came true, made our hearts melt.
Solange joined her sister on stage
Beyoncé definitely put out for her team, from her friends to her husband. Beychella 2018, marked the day of the first black women, first black female group, and ultimate black couple to headline Coachella. Wonder if mama Tina Lawson styled the group for old time sake!
