Egypt has announced plans to manufacture at least one billion doses of China’s Sinovac Covid coronavirus (Covid-19) annually.
The vaccines are to be used for local needs and exported to other African nations.
Egypt’s Health Minister, Hala Zayed, announced this to reporters.
The Health Minister stated that under a deal with the Chinese firm, a factory in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, would produce over 200 million doses a year for the local needs.
The Minister added that another factory will manufacture five times as many for export, mainly to African countries.
