Joe Biden won the election officially as of November 16th, 2020. The AP News called the winner after a long process of accusations and delayed counts.
Biden achieved victory in key states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Arizona, topping the 270 electoral vote threshold to clinch the presidency, with room to spare.
As Trump debates, a recount of Georgia votes will not place him in the lead. According to AP, Biden doesn’t even need Georgia counts to win because he has enough electoral votes without Georgia.
On Monday, 59 leading U.S. election security experts released a letter saying they have reviewed all claims that the 2020 election was somehow rigged by exploiting technical vulnerabilities and found them to be “unsubstantiated” or “technically incoherent.” They said they found nothing to support a conclusion that the outcome in any state was altered through technical compromise.
Nevertheless, Trumps accusations may cause delay in Presidential transitioning. According to AP, with Trump holding out and attempting to sow confusion, his appointee at the General Services Administration has yet to make a formal designation of Biden as the president-elect.
America is already facing delays as time is running out for many who are uneployed due to covid. Pandemic unemployement is set to stop next moth. Covid cases are rising and Trump has reportedly not willing to work with Biden leaving more and more lives at stake.
“More people may die if we don’t coordinate,” Biden told reporters Monday in Delaware, in a news conference after he met with labor and business leaders and delivered a speech on the economy.
