Justin Bieber old song Hold On takes a new light since he announced that he had Ramsay Syndrome. The ‘What Do You Mean’ artist posted a video to his Instagram on Friday about cancellation of his concerts.
The Canadian popstar said he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome after a virus had damaged the nerves in his ear. The disease bears serious symptoms. According to Mayoclinic, a painful red rash with fluid-filled blisters on, in and around one ear. But also, facial weakness or paralysis on the same side as the affected ear. From the looks of Biebers video, he seems to experience more of the paralysis.
In his post he said, “as you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move, so there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
As he continued to speak fans noticed how one side of his face wouldn’t move. He continued to say, “so for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously not able of doing them,” he said. “This is pretty serious as you can see.”
As well as “we don’t know how much time it is going to be but it’s going to be OK, I have hope and I trust God. I trust it is all for a reason. I’m not sure what that is right now but, in the meantime, I am going to rest.”
The transparency the pop artist displayed and the support from his fans reminded us of Justin Bieber old song Hold On.

Bieber once explained this song is about hope. “The song is just a hopeful record of just holding on, because a lot of us want to give up at times,” he said in a live chat. “There’s a lot to look forward to. There’s a lot we can’t control sometimes, but there’s always hope.”
Hope, indeed. Not just for mistakes, but the things we cannot change. Maybe, Justin Biebers transparency will encourage others to hold on and push forward as well.
