Details that Kanye West’s ‘Late Registration’ is now 5x platinum surfaced as the artist made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud in Miami. Especially, since he initially dropped out of the show and Kid Cudi took his place.
During Cudi’s performance the crowd began throwing water bottles at the Day and Night artist.
“Yo, I will walk off this stage if you all throw one more fucking thing up here, I will leave, I will leave right now,” said Cudi. “Throw one more fucking thing on this stage and I’ll walk off, I’m not fucking playing. I’m not fucking playing, you will ruin it for everybody.”
Kanye West emerged wearing a mask covering his entire face during rapper Lil Durk’s set.
While it remains unclear whether West did so deliberately to spite Cudi, he partially performed “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” from his “Life of Pablo” album, which contains predominant vocals from Cudi.

His second album “Late Registration” mirrored his idea of working outside the box. From that album, “Gold Digger” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed there for 10 weeks. It remains Kanye’s biggest hit to date.
Much of the hype surrounding Late Registration was about how Kanye was working with Jon Brion, a producer who had no background in hip-hop and was best known for producing movie scores and Fiona Apple records.
According to Rolling Stone, British trip-hop group Portishead was a huge influence on Kanye. Not only was he a big fan of their album classic debut, Dummy, but he was also a fan of their live album, Roseland NYC Live.
According to Jay-Z, Kanye mixed “Diamonds” about 14 times before he was comfortable enough to release it.
With much thought and work placed into the album. As well as placing himself over 600,000 dollars in debt, Rap TV just announced that Kanye West’s ‘Late Registration’ is now 5x platinum.
