Lil Wayne was worth waiting for because he just broke a record. The success of the project has landed Weezy at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, which leads him to making history on Billboard’s Hot 100 List.
Billboards states that Lil Wayne is now
artist to debut two songs in the Hot 100’s top five at the same time.
BET reports,
His record “Mona Lisa,” featuring Kendrick Lamar has landed him at the No. 2 spot and “Don’t Cry,” featuring XXXTentacion has landed at the No.5 spot. He now joins Drake as the only two artists to debut four songs in the top 10 in a single week.
The success of “Uproar,” has landed the record at No.7 and “Let It Fly” featuring Travis Scott has entered the No. 10 spot.
Overall 22 of the 23 tracks from the album have entered the Hot 100, matching up with Drake. The two Young Money rappers now hold the record of charting at least 22 songs simultaneously in the survey’s history.
It’s safe to say that “Tha Carter V” was well worth the wait. Congrats to Lil Wayne on setting a new record.
