Lizzo says she is tired of these twitter trolls and the rudeness. “The Truth Hurts” singer is just being honest. Lizzo tweated, “Yeah I can’t do this Twitter s—t no more.. too many trolls,” Lizzo tweeted late last night (January 5). “I’ll be back when I feel like it.”
No one really knows what tipped her over the head to decide to leave the platform. What we do know is that Lizzo has been hearing the backlash from socialites in regards to her behavior and attire.
The singer has always been open with her body, posting near nudes on the gram. The backlash came when she attended a Lakers game with cut denim showing her butt cheeks. Lizzo joked around in her attire at the game revealing the cut out of her attire as she turned around to twerk for the cameras.
Many were saying that she shouldn’t dress that revealing at a game where there are children watching. Others say she is being targeted because of her weight. Lizzo spoke out about her wardrobe choice saying that She is a grown woman, and saying never let somebody stop you or shame you for being yourself.
Lizzo’s last Twitter spat was in December with Dr. Boyce Watkins, who claimed her popularity was due to the “obesity epidemic in America.”
Dr Boyce Watkins tweeted, “Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are … Unfortunately, Many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease,”
Lizzo responded saying, “I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you,” she wrote. “Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me. Here’s the attention you ordered ?.”
