Nicki Minaj Shares The Importance of Knowing You Are “That B*tch

Nicki Minaj recently took the stage at the Billboards Women In Music tribute to accept The Game Changers Award. The tribute was directly after the death of rapper Juice WRLd. Nicki Minaj took most of her time to speak on the rappers untimely passing. She expressed how uncomfortable it was to talk about herself other than the loss of someone important to the culture. Nicki also joked that the Billboard Women in Music tribute was the only thing that has gotten her dressed in the last month. She talked about how Juice WRLd comforted her while working and touring together.

Nicki Minaj said how much she was inspired by Alanis Morrisette. Staying on track with a message from Juice WRLD’s tragedy, Nicki stated that drugs isn’t the problem , it is the way we fix our problems. She encouraged people to speak up about their feelings instead of medicating themselves. She went on to say, entertainers do not always feel sexy, they are not always in the mood. “We are not allowed to be human, but that makes no F’n sense”.

She encouraged everyone to talk about whatever it is, that they wanted to talk about. In a more up close and personal interview, Nicki said she would recommend taking time to yourself.

” I find that when there’s a lot of chaos, when I’m confused about who I am or feeling low or confused, taking time away to not be around other people and just get yourself focused, I think that’s always great. If you’re an artist the time that you spend alone reflecting it actually helps everything  else you do. Peace is the most important thing. Knowing you are beautiful, and you’re great is extremely important. You shouldn’t need anyone to tell you that. You should just know it every single day. You are that Bitch”.
