Arik Housley the father Alaina Housley spoke out to CBS anout the death of his daughter during to the Thousand Oaks shooting. Along with him was his sister in law, Tamera Mowry-Housley and his brother Adsm Housley, a former Fox News correspondant.
Arik Housley spoke in tears saying my daughters body was brought back to Napa today, we are going to bury her in four days. I should not have to do that.
The streets of Napa were lined up with hundreds of people welcoming Alaina Housley back home one final time. Her father Arik Housley said, him and his wife, Hannah Housley lost it. Alaina was the youngest of the victims killed during the bar shooting. She lost her life ar only 18 years old.
Tamera and husband Adam Housley spoke out about their niece. In tears Tamera said, “She was my friend.”
Adam Housley, familiar with covering stories like this says, “you sit there and you’re like my gosh how are these people going to get through it, and now we are living it.”
The family goes on to talk about changing the dynamics of approaching these mass shootings. Tamera says, “Yes there needs to be a change, but all the noise, nothings been done. We don’t want the conversation to end, we want it to continue. You start with imagining what if that was my child, or my neice, or my cousin. It’ll get you in the place of just having some sort of human descency.”
The family says it’s beyond politics, it’s an issue of mankind. Their social media responses from the tragedy were more than immoral. One person commented that it was the families fault because Adam Housley worked for Fox News. In a tragic time like this the insensitivity of society has opened their hearts and mouths to fight for change, in the justice of Alaina Housley and other victims. However, the comments that continued to spur on Twitter caused Tamera to remove herself, in order to gain her sanity. Socialites made it a point to bring up Adam Housley’s reaction to Trayvon Martin.
At some point Tamera was found going back and forth on Twitter to defend her husband snd her family until she made her announcement to remove herself from the platform.
