Trumps Facebook Post Removed For Fake News – Trump Backfires
Trumps Facebook accusation about coronavirus being less deadly than the flu has been pulled from Facebook by Facebook due to false information, or what Trump refers to as fake news.
Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone confirmed to CNN that the post was removed for breaking the social networking’s guidelines on spreading misinformation about the virus and COVID-19.
“Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu,” Trump tweeted the morning after he returned to the White House after being hospitalized at the Walter Reed medical center for his coronavirus infection. “Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!”
The Coronavirus has claimed the lives of over 200, 000 plus American lives compared to the flu.
Trump later posted to Facebook saying that all the media wants to talk about is the Coronavirus as opposed to the job market.
In August Trumps Facebook post was removed in regards to comments about Coronavirus. The post included a video of Trump’s interview on “Fox & Friends” early Wednesday morning in which he pushed for schools to resume in-person classes amid the pandemic, stating that young people are “almost immune” to the disease.
In a statement first reported by NBC News, a Facebook spokesperson said, “This video includes false claims that a group of people is immune from Covid-19 which is a violation of our policies around harmful Covid misinformation.”
