Yara Shahidi’ spoke about her up and coming role as Tinkerbell. When asked how she prepared for the part she said, “So I have these Tinkerbell playlists”.
The Blackish actress said she revved up to “moving around like I pictured a fairy moves”.
“It was a little ridiculous but once you see it on camera it looks a little less ridiculous,”she continued to say.
The movie has been in talks since 2020. The movie is set to be released later this year.
Until then fans can catch 22-year-old, Yara Shahidi’ on “Grown-ish” as she plays the role of Zoey Johnson”. The new episode airs on Wednesday at 10 p.m. of Freeform.
During this coming season, her character graduated from college. Much like Shahidi did in real life recently.
She graduated back in May. Comparing her true college experience to her character Zoey, she states in real life she attended the library much more.
I spent much more time in the library than Zoey ever did,” she told Daily Pop‘sĀ Francesca Amiker. “It showed me, personally, quite honestly, the value of everybody’s unique experience. It was really cool and surreal to play a character that was going through such a similar experience as I was, just in terms of hitting these young adult years.”
The actress dressed in Dior for her actual graduation from Harvard University. Daily Pop asked Yara Shahidi about her style inspiration. She credited Solange Knowles, who won Harvard’s Artist Of The Year Award in 2018. She was recognized at the annual award ceremony on March 3 at Sanders Theatre.
Yara Shahidi said, ” I feel like I point to people like Solange. You know people that feel so true to themselves. It doesn’t matter what they are wearing. It just feels right. That’s what I always am trying to go for”.
