MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — Authorities are working to free a man who got trapped inside a secure room in a Midtown building.
Officials say a 23-year-old customer got stuck inside the building located at 580 Fifth Avenue. Firefighters have been going in and out of the building, working to unlock the secured room since 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The building has a number of jewelry businesses inside. Officials believe the secured room with a timed lock mechanism is one of the many safety precautions inside this building.
