The new season of popular Netflix show, Sex Education has arrived and it features songs from Nigerian artists like Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage on select episodes, most notably Joro. The new season of the show was released on Friday, the 17th of September 2021.
Fans immediately noticed familiar afrobeats songs from their favorite artists in the show. Wizkid’s Joro was most prominent among the songs on the show. It appeared during a club scene in the 6th episode and blended right in.
Asides from Wizkid’s Joro, Tiwa Savage’s Attention, and Davido’s Fall were also featured on the new season of Sex Education. Skales’ 2015 hit, Shake Body was also featured on the new season.
This is a testament to the growth of afrobeats in world music as pushed by top exports like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and more. Fans of the artists were happy to see their favorite songs being featured on such a global platform.
