
An investigation was underway after one person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, police said Monday.
The shooting was reported at around 7:25 p.m. along North Lockwood Avenue near West Washington Boulevard. According to law enforcement, one teenager and three men were on the sidewalk when an unknown SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots at all four victims.
A 32-year-old man was shot in the face and rushed to an area hospital, where he later died. The second victim, a 15-year-old boy, was shot in the right leg and hospitalized in fair condition.
A 34-year-old man also sustained a gunshot wound to the right leg. He was reported to be in critical condition, according to police. The fourth victim, a 36-year-old man, was listed in critical condition after being shot in the right flank.
No suspect information had been released as of Monday evening.
Area Four detectives were investigating.
