With many still cleaning up debris and working to restore power following a night of intense winds and storms, the Chicago area was again battered by severe weather Thursday.
Multiple confirmed tornadoes were reported in Streator and in Dwight, sparking warnings in LaSalle, Grundy and Kankakee counties.
A large and damaging tornado also made its way through Lake and Porter counties in Indiana, according to officials.
Friday should bring quieter conditions to the area, but clean-up efforts will once again have to begin in earnest in communities devastated by storms, and damage assessments will be underway to determine how many tornadoes struck the area.
