
A verbal altercation ended in gunfire late Saturday in the Chatham neighborhood, with three individuals suffering injuries.
According to Chicago police, a group of unknown individuals became involved in a verbal altercation with two men at approximately 10:22 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Drexel.
One of the suspects then pulled out a weapon and opened fire, striking at least two victims, police said.
A 33-year-old man was shot in the chest, and a 29-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, and both were transported to area hospitals in fair condition, according to police.
Later, a third victim, a 17-yaer-old, transported himself to an area hospital after suffering a laceration to his eyebrow from an errant gunshot, authorities said. He was listed in good condition.
No further information was available, and Area Two detectives are investigating the shooting.
