The Chris Rock slap may have been a very embarrassing moment. But since then, the Rock has managed to stay in the limelight and has a new girlfriend.
The 57-year-old comedian’s comedy tour four months ago reportedly surged after the famous Chris Rock slap.
Secondary ticket seller TickPick tweeted Monday that they saw an increase in sales to see Rock perform following the incident, which aired live during the awards show. Rock is scheduled to perform at Boston’s Wilbur Theater Wednesday through Friday before his Ego Death World Tour begins Saturday.
“We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined,” TickPick revealed on Twitter.
The online marketplace told PEOPLE that over 50% of its sales for Rock’s tour “have come since the Oscars.” Tickets first went on sale on Feb. 24.
Not only did Chris Rock earn more for comedy tickets. But he also found a new love.
According to reports, the “New Jack City” actor recently took a trip with Lake Bell to Croatia.
According to Hollywood Life, enjoyed their newly minted romance. Lake, 43, and Chris, 57, have been vacationing in Croatia, and the pair weren’t afraid of a little PDA on Sunday (July 17) in the city of Dubrovnik. At one point, the Harley Quinn actress wrapped her arm around Chris’s shoulder as the comedian looked off in the distance. Shortly afterward, the two continued their sunset stroll, walking hand-in-hand – pausing a bit for Lake to press a finger to her lips as they considered their next move – before eventually making their way to a boat. From there, the two headed off to the next destination on this holiday in Croatia.
The dating rumor began due to the two enjoying dinner together in Santa Monica, California. The two enjoyed a meal at Giorgio Baldi, with reports claiming PDA was on that evening’s menu. The morning after that dinner date, Chris and Lake met up for brunch at Coast Restaurant.
His brother Tony Rocked joked about his dating life. “As a brother, I’m very happy for him because, number one, nobody cares who the ugly guys are dating,” he told TMZ in an interview published on Tuesday, July 12. “Nobody cares who the ugly celebrities are dating. So the fact that this is getting so much attention, I’m like, ‘Damn, they must really think my brother’s kind of handsome.’ “
