Brittney Griner’s wife confirms how stressed she is while she awaits the WNBA stars release.
Cherelle Griner shared news of her bar exam on June 29th. During a social media caption she wrote, through all stages 🤞🏾… beginning (during law school), middle (graduation), and 24 days away from taking our ending pics (esquire loading)…

While speaking to ABC News on Tuesday during her hearing for drug charges, 34-year-old Griner had a message for her wife, Cherelle.
“Good luck on the bar exam,” Griner said in the message to Cherelle, who graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law in May. Cherelle started the intensive, two-day exam to become a practicing lawyer Tuesday.
Griner told ABC News that she is “waiting patiently” while in custody but has “no complaints.” During the hearing, she held up a sign that included a photograph of her and Cherelle.
Ironically, while the WNBA star remains detained in Russia, Brittney Griner’s wife continues to work towards making a difference in law.
Comments on Twitter went out over how stressful Brittney Griner’s wife must be.
One person said, “Something that I cannot get out of my head/heart this week is that Cherelle Griner is taking the bar exam while her wife sits on the stand in Russia. I cannot imagine the toll this is taking on her. #BrittneyGriner”
“The toughest moment during this ordeal is when I stop to think about how BG is doing,” Brittney Griner’s wife Cherelle writes to @TIME in an email. “Those moments are overwhelming, and I’m consumed with emotions.”
The two also spent their anniversary attempting to reach other via phone. But the U.S Embassy failed to connect their call. Cherelle shared the news, saying they lack employees. See that story here.
