On the hunt for a place to watch the much-anticipated Olympic gold medal men’s hockey game on Sunday? It’s a good thing plenty of Chicago-area bars are open for the early morning showdown.
The men’s gold medal game between Team USA and Canada begins at 7:10 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.
While the final will air live on NBC, you can also stream it at the link below.
Though the game starts early, many bars in and around Chicago will be open before the puck drop.
U.S. men’s hockey has not won gold since the “Miracle on Ice” in Lake Placid in 1980. Plus, redemption is at stake for Team USA, as the last time the U.S. reached the final Olympic round was in 2010 when Canada took home gold.
“It definitely motivates us,” Team USA’s Zach Werenski said. “We’ve talked about. We’re well aware of it. I don’t think it’s pressure. It’s fun. It’s exciting.”
It’s a game hockey fans won’t want to miss, between what U.S. winger Matthew Tkachuk said are “two of probably the best teams ever, maybe.”

The Globe Pub
The Globe Pub, located at 1934 West Irving Park Road in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood, will be open at 7 a.m. for the game.
Their “Malort Cortina” deal will be in its final day, with $6 Malort shots and $6 Paroni drafts on special. The Globe will also show the Closing Ceremony in the afternoon, starting at 1 p.m.
Lotties Pub
Bucktown neighborhood staple Lotties Pub is opening early at 6:30 a.m. for the game, the bar said in a post on social media.
Lotties is located at 1925 West Cortland Street in Chicago.
“Coffee, beers, breakfast vibes and hockey the way it should be watched,” Lotties said in their post.
Murphy’s Bleachers
Wrigley Field neighbor Murphy’s Bleachers will be open at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday for the game, the sports bar said in a post on social media.

The Black Oak Restaurant and Tavern
The Black Oak, located at 9630 South Pulaski Road in Oak Lawn, is open at 6:30 a.m. and offering deals from 7 a.m. through the end of the game, according to their social media post.
“Start your morning with hockey, drinks & half-off food!,” the post says.
Reilly’s Daughter
Also in Oak Lawn, Reilly’s Daughter is opening at 7 a.m. for the game, according to their social media post.
They’re doing a $40 open bar deal from opening through the end of the game. The deal includes domestic beer, seltzers and mixed drinks.
Theory
Theory, located at 9 West Hubbard Street in Chicago’s River North neighborhood will be open at 7:10 a.m. for the game, according to their website. They will have the audio on their TV’s.
The sports lounge also posted about the event on their social media.
“Coffee? Maybe. Beer? Definitely.,” the post’s caption says.
The Barn Hockey Bar
West Loop’s The Barn Hockey Bar, located at 1659 West Ogden Avenue, will be open at 6:45 a.m. for the game, the bar said on social media.
Kentucky 10 bourbon and Noteworthy will be on special for the game.
