A man was listed in critical condition at an area hospital after he was shot near downtown Aurora overnight.
According to Aurora police, officers were called for multiple reports of shots fired near River Street and Sard Avenue at approximately 3:24 a.m. Monday.
Those responding officers located a man on the Gilman Trail, and the victim had been shot in the lower body, police said.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Police say the man’s condition has since stabilized, but he remains in the hospital.
There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time, and police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 630-256-5500.
