The identities of the three people who were shot and killed on Friday afternoon in Garfield Park were released by authorities on Saturday.
The shooting occurred around 4:47 p.m. on Friday near North Pulaski Road and West Maypole Avenue when at least two people who were armed exited a vehicle and fired shots at four people who were near the sidewalk, authorities said. All four sustained injuries in the shooting.
Rickia Williams, 32, died after she was shot in the head and Lavell Lee, 36, and Kenneth Bell Jr., 27, both died after they were shot several times, authorities said.
Authorities did not name or provide an update on the 35-year-old man who was struck several times in the shooting and initially listed in critical condition at the hospital.
The shooting prompted a major police response to the area, with crime scene tape wrapped around several businesses and cars as authorities investigated.
Police are continuing to investigate, and no one is currently in custody.
