
A police presence was reported Thursday morning during rush hour near Chicago’s busy Union Station, with least one person injured and an investigation underway.
The police presence could be seen in the West Loop near Union Station at Canal Street.
Police said a 42-year-old man was standing outside just before 10 a.m. in the 300 block of South Canal when he was approached by someone. The two got into an argument that then turned physical and the person pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.
The gunman fled in a black sedan and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with injures. Police said he was in good condition.
