Dozens of Powerball players across the U.S. — including four in Illinois — took home million-dollar prizes in Wednesday’s drawing.
The drawing — with winning numbers 3, 19, 35, 51, 67 and 15, also resulted in two lucky jackpot winners, from Indiana and Kansas. But plenty of other players also won big.
According to the Powerball website, more than 60 players across 17 states matched all five numbers to win $1 million. That includes three winners from Illinois; 14 from both Indiana and New Jersey; five from Kansas; six from Louisiana, four from Wisconsin and five from Pennsylvania.
In addition, more than two dozen matched all five numbers with a power play to win even more, taking home $2 million, including one player in Illinois, two in Wisconsin and five in Indiana.
Overall, more than 80 players took home big prizes, with two winners grabbing the full jackpot of $143 million.
It wasn’t immediately clear where in Illinois the $1 and $2 million tickets were sold.
In suburban Palatine, two friends recently celebrated a big Illinois Lottery win, scoring $750,000 on a March 20 Lucky Day Lotto ticket sold at Squire Liquor & Tobacco, at 1929 Plum Grove Rd.
“At first, I thought it was only $700, until my friend pointed out it was actually the jackpot,” one of the winners said in a release.
The next Powerball drawing takes place Saturday night, with the current jackpot up to $20 million.
