
A man was taken into custody in connection with a homicide that left one woman dead in suburban Schaumburg, authorities said.
At around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday night, Schaumburg police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a well-being check in the 1700 block of Weathersfield Way. Officers entered the home and located a woman who was pronounced deceased. A man who was known to the victim was inside the residence and taken into custody, police said in a news release.
The woman, who was 43 years old, died from strangulation, and her manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Her identity hasn’t been released.
