A man died after he was pulled from Lake Michigan near Chicago’s 49th Street Beach on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Around 7:30 p.m., an unidentified man fell into the water on the 4900 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Chicago’s East Hyde Park neighborhood, authorities said.
The man was pulled from the water by the Chicago Police Department’s Marine Unit and transported to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
No additional information was immediately available.
