A new cafe featuring a beloved character appears to be coming to the Magnificent Mile.
The new shop — a Hello Kitty Cafe — looks to be located on the bottom floor of the London House hotel, at 360 N. Michigan Ave. Photos and video of the not-yet-open restaurant captured Tuesday show windows with pink and white awnings and a large bow atop a “Hello Kitty Cafe” sign.
“Hello Kitty Cafe Chicago,” the signs show. “Coming soon.”

Similar Hello Kitty Cafes are already open in other cities, including in Las Vegas, Santa Clara in California and Vancouver in Canada. The Hello Kitty “Grand Cafe” in Irvine includes a menu of freshly baked cookies, cakes, donuts, seasonal goodies and handmade drinks, the site showed. Some Hello Kitty Cafes serve afternoon tea or cocktails, according to the Sanrio site.
The cafe opening in Chicago comes after the Hello Kitty pop-up Truck, which travels to cities and malls across the country, stopped in Chicago in 2025.
It wasn’t immediately clear what would be served at the Hello Kitty Cafe in Chicago, or when it was expected to open.
Sanrio did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago’s request for information.
