
A public alert has been issued after an attempted kidnapping was thwarted by bystanders on Saturday evening.
According to Chicago police, a victim was standing in the 900 block of North Pulaski at approximately 6:15 p.m. when a suspect got out of a white sedan and approached.
The victim was then grabbed by the hair and told to enter the suspect’s vehicle, with that assailant wielding a knife, according to police.
After a brief struggle, the victim was able to alert bystanders to assist, and they were able to escape the would-be abductor.
The suspect then fled the scene.
Residents are being urged to be aware of their surroundings, and to watch for suspicious activity as they enter and exit locations.
