
A famed folk rock trio has been added to the Illinois State Fair headliner lineup, becoming one of the latest big-name artists scheduled for the grandstand stage.
Organizers announced Tuesday that the Avett Brothers will perform at the fair on Aug. 20, “bringing a night of heartfelt lyrics and high-energy folk rock.”
“The Illinois State Fair continues to bring a diverse lineup of nationally recognized talent to our Grandstand, and The Avett Brothers are a perfect addition,” Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II said in a statement.
The band shot to stardom with their 2009 debut “I and Love and You,” which they followed with several chart-topping releases and Grammy nominations.
“The Avett Brothers bring an energy and authenticity that will make this a can’t-miss night at the Illinois State Fair,” Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said in a release.
Tickets are set to go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 16 via Ticketmaster. Prices for the grandstand start at $58,
Other headliners announced so far include The Chicks, Lainey Wilson, Ella Langley and Bailey Zimmerman.
The 2026 Illinois State Fair runs from Aug. 13 through Aug. 23 in Springfield.
