
A minor was taken into custody following a stabbing in unincorporated McHenry on Thursday night, authorities said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said at around 9 p.m., it responded to the 5300 block of Leeside Street where emergency services were called for a stabbing. Once they arrived at the scene, sheriff’s deputies determined an adult male had been stabbed. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville – and was later treated and released.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed the incident was domestic, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
A minor suspect, whose age hasn’t been released, was taken into custody.
The suspect was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
