Illinois State Police are investigating after a fatal crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning.
According to authorities, troopers were called to the outbound side of the highway near 91st Street at approximately 12:57 a.m. for reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and three occupants of those vehicles were injured, police said.
Among them was a 20-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Two other individuals were taken to area hospitals for treatment for their injuries.
Lanes of the highway were closed for more than four hours, with all lanes reopening just after 5 a.m.
