Three Chicago suburbs are among the top 50 wealthiest in the U.S., according to a new list released this week.
MoneyLion, a fintech company that advertises its mobile app as an alternative to traditional banking, made the list based on an analysis of U.S. Census 2024 American Community Survey data of cities with at least 5,000 households.
Hindsale led the Illinois representation on the list, coming in at no. 11.
According to MoneyLion’s analysis, Hinsdale had an average household income of $367,874 in 2024 and an average home value of $1,330,983 in April 2026.
The next Chicago suburb on the list is Lake Forest at no. 35.
With an average household income of $303,251 in 2024 and an average home value of $1,253,534 in April 2026, Lake Forest ranked just above another northern suburb of Chicago.
Wilmette came in at no. 36 on the list, with an average 2024 household income of $300,005 and an average home value of $1,073,688 in April 2026.
Though no Illinoisians can say they live in a suburb in the list’s top 10, here’s a look the spots that did:
