How to get $25 of free gas in a Chicago suburb on Saturday – NBC Chicago

A northwest suburban church is helping its community cope with high prices at the pump by hosting a free gas giveaway this weekend.

From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Good News in the Neighborhood Church will be at the Mobil gas station located at 1228 E. Dundee Road in Palatine giving away $25 gas cards to anybody that pulls into the parking lot.

It’s part of the non-denominational church’s “Second Saturday” outreach program.

“We did this last year, and, it was a lot of fun,” said Pastor Luck MacDonald.

The church is “just trying to take something difficult and make it into something positive. We just use these as ways to help our church get out into the community and not just get stuck inside the walls of the church,” MacDonald said.

There will also be an ice cream truck at the event.

You do not need to be a member of the church or hold any specific beliefs to get a gas card.
