Kamiyah Mobley, is few of many people who are kidnapped at birth and still hold bond with the kidnapper. Mobley was born in Florida by birth parents, Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken, and finally reunites with her parents in 2017. Gloria Williams became pregnant with Kamiyah 18 years ago, she was her first child. She suffered a miscarriage. Gloria then took to the roads of Florida in search of the baby she longed for. Pretending to be a nurse in the hospital Gloria gazed upon a baby girl. The child being no more then a few hours old was taken from the hospital, and driven back to South Carolina for Gloria to raise. The baby was renamed and raised as Alexis Manigo. Years later Gloria also had two more children. The abducted child, Kamiyah Mobley formerly known as Alexiz Manigo and the other two siblings were raised as brother and sisters. Kamiyah ( Alexis Manigo ) states she was never treated harshly and was raised very well.
Reluctant to have reunited with her birth parents, Kamiyah strives to embrace both families, but her strive did not sit well with her birth mother. “I shouldn’t have to compete with a kidnapper – she has to pick one of us,” she said at the time. “It’s like a tug of war between us. Whenever I feel like I’m winning her back, boom, the other side pulls me down. Nobody acknowledges my pain. I feel like I’m being robbed all over again every time she reaches out to my daughter.”
Kamiyah has love for both families, regardless of the difficulties, she says “I actually put work in to try and make these two families happy”.
And when describing her relationship with her biological mother now, Kamiyah admits it could be better.
“It’s a roller coaster with us,” she said. “I feel like she just thinks everything with me has Gloria written over it. Maybe that’s it. I don’t know.”
Speaking on her kidnapping mother, Kamiyah Mobley says, “I’ve never really felt no malice,” she said. “The reason people kind of have a hard time [with that] is because they haven’t been in the situation. That’s just how I feel with that. They can’t tell me anything to really help me at this point.
Kamiyah’s bond with her father has been amazing, “We just kind of hugged each other,” she said. “We could have been quiet in the room and felt peace looking at each other.”

Gloria Williams Kamiyah’skidnapping mother is played by Niecy Nash, Kamiyah Mobley is played by Rayven Ferrell and her mother Shanara Mobley’s is played by Ta’Rhonda Jones. In real life Kamiyah admits the experience has beena roller coaster, but has allowed her to develop character.
“Because of my experiences in the last couple of years, it’s kind of forced me to have an open mind,” she said. “I think I’m a pretty good aunt. I think I’m a pretty good sister. I think I’m a pretty good person. I think I’m alright.”
