On Sunday news broke of 33 year old Jeremih hospitalized due to covid. Rapper 50 Cent confirmed when he posted to Instagram saying, “Thank you for praying for my Boy @jeremih, He is responsive today, doing a little better.”
The singer remains in the ICU in Chicago. Jeremih is an original Chicagoan. He attended Morgan Park Highschool and Columbia College in downtown Chicago. Illinois currently has over 540,000 cases of coronavirus, currently trending at a 14.4 percentage rate, and is set for a statewide shut down on Monday November 16th, 2020.
“The numbers are staggering. These are numbers we haven’t seen before. We certainly didn’t see it before in the first wave of the pandemic in the spring,” said Dr. Robert Citronberg with Advocate Aurora Health.
Citronberg said the holidays could be disastrous if Illinoisans aren’t safe.
“They have the potential to become super-spreader events, and if you think the numbers are bad now wait about two weeks after Thanksgiving,” he said. “If you challenge the virus, you will lose. And your family will lose. And it’s hard to believe we’re still talking about this in November.”
According to Eonline, Jeremih has been placed on a breathing ventilator. The outlet reports “his condition has recently gotten worse.”
It’s unclear when the “Imma Star” singer tested positive for COVID-19 and how long he has been hospitalized. It’s also unknown if his current condition is due to COVID-19 or other complications stemming from the diagnosis.
Many fans and celebrities are sending prayers out to Jeremih and his family.
” Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him ” .. Chance The Rapper tweeted on Saturday November 14th.
