JLO copying Beyoncé is adding to the list of people the singer is accused of copying.
JLO has been associated with copying from Chante Moore, Mariah Carey, and Ashanti.
In 2008 Chante Moore spoke out about P Diddy stealing a beat for JLO.
Moore sat down with NPR’s Tony Cox and explained how P. Diddy laid claim to a song she recorded, and had producer Rodney Jerkins write a similar version for Lopez.
The comparison was between the songs “If You Had My Love,” as performed by Jennifer Lopez and Moore’s song called “If I Gave Love.”
MeFeater dishes out how JLO mimicked Ashanti with “I’m Real”, which was an attempt for Lopez to appeal to a more “urban” audience and give her album a boost on the charts.
The bulk of the song was written by Ashanti, who would go on to become the R&B Princess of the early 2000s largely due to her collab songs with Ja Rule.
Ashanti’s demo vocals were kept for the final version, including taking over the chorus and recording ad libs for the track. Ashanti received credit for her “background vocals”, but not as a co-writer.
Mariah Carey openly admitted how JLO stole from her, speaking on it in her latest projects ” The Meaning Of Mariah“. Mariah let the fans hear the ripped off song through her album The Rarities.
The original song “LoverBoy” from Mariah’s “Glitter” album sampled Cameo’s 1986 electrofunk smash “Candy. Mariah soon foind out that JLO was using the sample in her sophomore album J. Lo for the track “I’m Real.
Mariah candidly spoke on it saying, “Let’s just say they did me a favor,” Carey told MTV News. “And they know who they are. And thank you, sweetie. And your friend who did it with you!”
Mariah blames the division partly on her ex’s record label.
Now JLO is catching heat for copying Beyoncé.
Jennifer Lopez’s American Music Awards performance Sunday night looked very familiar to some.
The singer performed a sexy duet Sunday night with male artist Maluma at the awards show and social media immediately started pointing out the similarities to Beyoncé’s 2014 Grammys performance with her husband, rapper Jay-Z.
Lopez sported a black body suit with cutouts for “Pa’ Ti” and “Lonely” much like Beyoncé did when she sang “Drunk In Love” at the Grammys. Jlo copying beyonce
Some arguued that JLO was paying homage to Beyoncé but many others are not here for it. However, it isn’t the first time these two have worn similar outfits on stage.
