Kufuor Pays Last Respect To Arch Rival Rawlings; Bawumia, Samira File Past

Former Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor, has paid his last respect to his arch rival, Jerry John Rawlings.

Mr. Kufuor filed past Mr. Rawlings’ mortal remains in the national capital of Ghana, Accra, around 9:00am on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

The late Rawlings body is lying in state at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Mr Kufuor and his predecessor, Rawlings, did not enjoy a good relationship.

They fiercely criticised each other incessantly until Mr. Rawlings’ demise.

Mr Rawlings died on November 12, 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

He was born in 1947, ten years before Ghana gained independence from Britain.

Meanwhile, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira have also paid last respect to Mr. Rawlings.

They filed past Mr Rawlings mortal remains at the Accra International Conference Centre around 9:00am on Tuesday morning, January 26, 2021.
