At least two drivers have met their unfortunate death in Ghana through an alleged highway robbery attack.
The alleged robbery incident occured at Balungu on the Bolgatanga-Tamale Highway.
The two drivers whose identities were yet to be known as at time of filing this report, were allegedly shot by the robbers.
An eyewitness account says the two masked robbers opened fire on a truck driver from AK-47 rifles on the Highway at Pusu-Namongo, a community in the Talensi District.
The truck driver was said to be heading from Kumasi with passengers to Burkina Faso to purchase tomatoes.
The eyewitness account further revealed that the robbers shot another driver on a trailer loaded with bags of cement and that the bodies have been deposited at the Upper East Regional Hospital’s morgue for autopsy while the passengers who suffered gunshot wounds in the attack are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
