Bids for Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey’s first tweet have reportedly hit $2.5 million.
Mr Dorsey listed his first tweet dating back to March 2006 for sale on ‘Valuables by Cent’.
‘Valuables by Cent’ is a newly launched tweets marketplace. It was launched three months ago.

And according to ‘Valuables by Cent’ bids for the post have hit $2.5 million.
African Entertainment understands that the tweet is going to be sold as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT).
NFT is a unique digital certificate that states who owns a photo, video or other online media forms.
Anyone who buys the post, African Entertainment gathered, will receive a certificate, digitally signed and verified by Mr Dorsey.
The buyer is also expected to receive the metadata of the original tweet, with data also expected to include information like the time the tweet was posted and its text contents.
In a post sighted by African Entertainment on its website, ‘Valuables by Cent’ compared buying the post to a more traditional autograph or piece of memorabilia.
“Owning any digital content can be a financial investment,” it says. “[It can] hold sentimental value. Like an autograph on a baseball card, the NFT itself is the creator’s autograph on the content, making it scarce, unique, and valuable,” it said.
