The Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) has settled on March 30 as election day for its board chairman.
As a result, the current board’s tenure will end Wednesday, March 17, and a handing over subsequently done to the management led by the CEO until a new board is constituted.
GHAMRO made this known via a presser that addressed other pertinent issues.
The statement noted “in order to prevent a leadership crisis, an emergency meeting was convened between the Board, the Election Committee, and the Management of GHAMRO
At the end of the meeting, the following was agreed; “the new date for the elections is Tuesday, 30th March, 2021 and the election will be conducted nationwide.”
“The proposal by the Election Committee to disqualify some 6 out of the 12 aspirants who filed nominations was reviewed and annulled. All 12 aspirants are hereby cleared to contest in the 30th March Elections. “That current Board will hand over to the Management of GHAMRO led by the CEO to manage the affairs of the organization until a new board is sworn in.”
