Angelique Kidjo Features Yemi Alade In New Single ‘Dignity’

Angelique Kidjo and Yemi Alade

Over a year after Angelique Kidjo featured on Yemi Alade’s hit song ‘Shekere’, the singers are set to collaborate on a new single.

The Grammy award-winning Beninese songstress recently shared a teaser from the video for her latest single ‘Dignity’ which features Alade. The new video drops Friday, March 26, 2021.

The teaser hints at the song sampling Afrobeats sound which might not be a first for Kidjo but something of an ode to the music genre fast garnering world attention.

Kidjo and Alade struck a deep friendship after the veteran songstress not only blessed the singer’s sample of her ‘Wombo Lombo’ hit track but also featured in it.

The song, ‘Shekere’ off her ‘Woman of Steel’ album went off to critical acclaim in 2020. Its video currently has over 18 million views on YouTube.
