Management of New Golden, a publishing firm, has apologized to the chiefs, elders and people of Wulugu for the inaccurate information it published about the community in one of its textbooks.
New Golden rendered the apology in a letter to the Paramount Chief and people of Wulugu in the North East Region.
According to the company in the letter signed by its General Manager, Francis Fosu Frimpong, “a comprehension passage in one of our textbooks (Golden English for Basic Two) contains inaccurate information which we know is inconsistent with the way of life of Wulugu and its people.”
“We accept that it is wrong to describe Wulugu in this manner and we regret for what has happened. Please we are sorry, kindly forgive us,” it says.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment had earlier written to New Golden, drawing its attention to the misleading publication.
