A Jay-Z trend kicked off this year’s April fool’s day after headlines unveiling a forthcoming album by the rapper surfaced.
A tracklist for the album titled ‘Ascension’ showcased collaborations with top African music stars including Femi Kuti, Olamide, Sarkodie, Nasty C. It also featured collaborations with Beyonce and Rick Ross.

Turns out, to the dismay of fans, the tracklist was a hilarious prank commemorating this year’s April fool’s day.
Jay-Z’s team silence on the tracklist prank might also be an indication that there is no truth to the viral news. A couple of gullible news platforms excitedly reported the news as another major win for African music stars.

I like how Olamide and Sarkodie are supporting Jay Z on his album. It’s important for us Africans to help lift these young artists from America
