Former US President, Barack Obama, has urged Christians around the world to take some time off this year’s Easter celebration, to reflect on the blessings they enjoy.
He has also encouraged Christians to reflect on the hope they have for a brighter future.
“This Easter, I hope we can all take some time to reflect on the blessings we enjoy and the hope we have for a brighter future,” he said in a tweet sighted by African Entertainment on his official Twitter handle.
He shared a photo of his wife, Michelle Obama and daughters Malia Obama and Sasha Obama, alongside his tweet, saying “From our family to yours, have a safe and happy Easter.”
Mr Obama is the 44th President of the United States. He served as President from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017.

Christians around the world are celebrating the 2021 edition of Easter.
Easter is one of the important festivals on the Christian calender. Also referred to as Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, Easter is used for commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, something which the New Testament says occurred on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.
