    Bollywood Mourns Legendary Actor Dilip Kumarâs Death

    Legendary actor Dilip Kumar died today.  His death was confirmed by Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at Mumbai’s PD Hinduja hospital. The actor had been admitted to the hospital following reports of breathlessness. Earlier, in June, he had been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation. 


    “No One like you!!! Have a great Journey from here on Master … Rest in Peace,” tweeted ace actor Manoj Bajpayee on Twitter. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta wrote that Kumar was “the greatest” and that “there will never be another Dilip Kumar”. 

    “Legends don’t go anywhere, they just change the stage. #RipDilipKumar sir,” wrote Sonu Sood on the microblogging platform.

    “Saddened to know about the demise of Dilip Kumar sir, One of the greatest actors and doyen of Indian Cinema, a Legend. He inspired generations of actors and will always be missed. RIP,” tweeted filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.

    Dilip Kumar was often fondly called Hindi Cinema “First Khan” and was the recipient of numerous honours. Till date, Kumar holds the record for most Filmfare Awards for Best Actor wins and was the first recipient of that award. The world of cinema has lost a leading light today.
