Suspected Jihadists have allegedly killed 16 soldiers in Niger.
Niger’s defence ministry announced the killings, local media reports say.
According to reports, the Jihadists attacked a military post in the southern region of Diffa, killing the 16 soldiers.
At least nine soldiers were also wounded due to the attack, the defence ministry reportedly stated.
Reports say in a counter-attack, the army killed 50 members of the Boko Haram militant group.
African Entertainment understands that the Boko Haram militants usually enter Niger from neighbouring Nigeria.
