American reality TV star and businesswoman, Kim Kardashian, has joined the online campaign against the planned execution of death row inmate Julius Jones.
The Court of Criminal Appeals has already set an execution date for Jones.
African Entertainment understands that Jones, who has already spent 22 years in jail, is scheduled to be executed on November 18, 2021.
Jones, it would be recalled, was convicted in 1999 over the killing of Edmond businessman, Paul Howell.
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board had recommended 3-1 a commutation of Jones sentence to life in prison on Sept13 this year.
The Board set up Governor Kevin Stitt, reportedly found the death penalty was too severe of a punishment for the 1999 first-degree murder of Paul Howell.
In a post sighted by African Entertainment on his official Facebook page, Kim Kardashian called for justice for Jones, recounting that “Julius Jones was just given an execution date of Nov 18th despite the Pardon & Parole Board recommending his sentence be commuted. Help us SAVE HIS LIFE by contacting Governor Kevin Stitt at https://www.justiceforjuliusjones.com/take-action & asking him to commute Julius’ sentence.
#JusticeforJulius Justice for Julius”.
